Orlando Day 2 - Universal

We had the most amazing first full day here!
I woke up way too early at about 5am so got ready for a while and tried to contain my excitement.
Packed my little park bag with my camera attached, lip balm, sun cream, hand sanitizer, my charger and plasters - all fun stuff.

At about half 7 we headed over to Dennys for a LumberJack Slam which is our favourite breakfast ever! Plus unlimited coffee is always amazing and the staff are so kind and friendly, they really look after you and your cup is never empty.

We arrived at universal about ten minutes before opening but had to queue to get our tickets with our confirmation for ages as there were so many people. It was sorted in about half an hour and we got on about three major rides in the space of an hour which was really surprising considering the amount of people there. There was the Rip Rocket Ride, Transformers and The Mummy. We'dnever been on the Transformers ride before so that was absolutely amazing! It's a 3D simulator one which is really similar to Spiderman for those who have been.

After the Men in Black Alien Attack shooting ride (I won), we walked over to Krustyland which Matty was really happy about. It ha a Kwik-E-Mart, Krusty Burger and lots of stalls and statues from the series in a little mini springfield. The Simpsons Ride is really old as it was Back to the Future beforehand so its pretty jolty and made even me travel sick and I'm never really sick on rides. My Dad had to take a couple of hours break before we went on anything else after it, it really does throw you around a lot more than any other ride there. In our little break, we went to Krustybuger, I had a clogger burger which was HUGE. It's two burgers, melted cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato and their secret sauce. It does exactly as the name says, you can feel your arteries clogging, but it's so nice at the same time.

I was the most excited for the new section of Harry Potter which includes Diagon Alley, Knockturn Alley, Kings Cross, The Knight Bus and more. It was so amazing as usual with how much detail and thought they had put into everything. We had our Butterbeers which were sooo worth the wait since last time! They've recently opened a new Gringotts ride which I was so excited to go on since I heard about it, especially as there's a 3D Helena Bonham Carter. This ride has the longest queue, fair enough as it is the newest. There were a few announcements too as there was a delay with the ride, we were too far back to see what it was but that added another ten minutes or so to the wait time. When we finally got to the ride, it was a 3D rollercoaster, my favourite kind. We were sat in the second cart, this is usually how they do things, both carts go for a few seconds, then the first starts the ride and the second follows twenty seconds after so you are riding it "alone" and can't really see the other cars. We were really surprised when we found that the beginning screen of the characters right in front of you were blocked by the first cart. It wasn't even staggered so you could see, there was literally an entire cart of people in front of you for a lot of the ride which really spoilt it. Eventually, we were alongside the first car so could see the rest. The ride was really short and just had a few in the dark roller coaster bits apart from the 3D parts. I was really excited for the Bellatrix parts though.. It was pretty disappointing this one which I was gutted about! We do want to go on again and try and get on the front as we could have a completely different experience with it.

After we had finished looking around Diagon Alley, we went to platform 9 3/4, actually walked through the wall between platforms 9 and 10 and boarded the Hogwarts Express. This is such a clever little ride which takes you to the park next door, Islands of Adventure to Hogsmeade. On the ride, you look out the window and literally travel from London to Hogwarts, with the characters flying past the windows, dementors coming down the carriages, Harry, Ron and a suspiciously voiced Hermione's shadows walking down the carriages, chocolate frogs escaping etc. It was really amazing and I did cry a few times.

Seeing as we were in Islands of Adventure, we had a look round there where we went on the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride which is my absolute favourite! Jurassic Park and The Cat in the Hat. We're going back to Islands of Adventure now so I'll write more in detail about this park and its rides tonight. To top off our day, we got caught in a thunder and lightning storm and absolutely drowned which was so much fun. We didn't need any dinner after Krusty Burger so it was bath and bed for us all!
